SELF EMPLOYED PROGRAM
It is a process that allows foreign nationals to immigrate to Canada permanently as a self-employed person.
WHO CAN APPLY
- Librarians, archivists, conservators and curators
- Creative and performing artists
- Photographers, graphic arts technicians
- Creative designers and crafts persons
- Athletes, coaches
- Others
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- Must have at least 2 years relevant experience / self employment in the last 5 years in cultural activities
- Experience must be 2 one-year periods in cultural activities
- Strong documentation to show work experience as self employed
- Must show that you intend to become self-employed in Canada.
- Must score at least 35 out of 100 in points grid
- To meet the definition of a self-employed person

- Waiting for Acknowledgement of Receipt
- Submit biometrics
- Visa issued
CURRENT PROCESSING TIME
- Minimum timeframe is 23 months (after biometrics)
