PERMANENT RESIDENT TRAVEL DOCUMENT (PRTD)
PRTD is a single entry travel document which must be applied after your PR card expired from outside Canada.
ELIGIBLITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be permanent resident living outside Canada
- Must meet the residency requirement (2 years i.e. 730 days of “residency days” must be accumulated in every five-year period. These 730 days don’t need to be continuous. Some of your time abroad may count towards the 730 days.
- do not have a valid PR card
- Must be outside Canada
- Intend to return to Canada
HOW THIS PROGRAM WORK
- Fill out, sign and date your application forms.
- One application for each person in your family who needs a travel document, regardless of their age
- Must submit all the supporting documents
- Detailed description about your circumstances to stay outside Canada
- Pay the fees
- Apply online
