It is a process that allows permanent resident to officially become citizen of Canada
WHO CAN APPLY
- Must be a Permanent Resident
- Have lived in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years
- Have filled taxes
- A past Canadian citizen who want Canadian citizenship back
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- have permanent resident Status in Canada (either expired / valid)
- have lived in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years
- have filed your taxes at least 3 years during the 5 years
- pass a citizenship test
- prove your language skills – CLB Level 4 or higher
TIME LIVED IN CANADA
Have been physically in Canada for at least 1095 days(3 years) during the last five years
PASS A CITIZENSHIP TEST
- In order to get the citizenship certificate, you must need to pass the citizenship first.
- It is about Canadian’s economy, history, laws and government
- It is about 30-35 minutes long
- 20 questions (pass mark: 15 correct answers)
- Test is based on the official citizenship study guide
